So what now? Well, after a few days of relaxing, we'll begin to evaluate the effectiveness of our redesign. It's tempting to begin tweaking the site immediately - change the wording here, move a link there - but that would only undermine the early research we did. We've attempted to squeeze as much uncertainty as possible out of the assumptions we made early on, and now is our chance to observe this work in action, under the microscope of a real-world production schedule.
Then comes the revisions. We're already investigating new ways to make the site cooler with more CSS and dHTML enhancements. And, since all our content has been stripped down to raw text with associated metadata, it will be exceptionally easy for us to make a transition to XML in the near future.
But ultimately, we want to continue producing a site that we would enjoy visiting regularly. We'll continue, as always, to listen to our readers first, since we're all webmonkeys together, and refine the site based on what you say. If there is something you really like, don't like at all, or think we missed, by all means let us know. We're always listening at admin@electric-type.co.uk.
